H. Cløver

In the 1990ies I travelled Pakistan and India extensively. In Pakistan I did some research on phenomena of popular Islam within the scope of my studies in anthropology. The resulting text 'Islam's Holy Cows' will be available on this site in 2012 after some editing, integrating actual events and prospects in Pakistan.

In Pakistan I discovered my interest in writing about cross-cultural subjects. Also in those days I started to use my skills as a trained photojournalist to illustrate my writing. Some of the pictures taken back then in Pakistan connected to "Islam's Holy Cows' – highly popular saints and their shrines –, also depicting other aspects of a fascinating but politically troubled country, can be seen below.
